About Us

Fire Equipment Maintenance Group (FEMG) was established in Port Augusta in July, 2000. FEMG Managers, Darren McNamee, Ramon Kruger, Garry Gliddon and Wade Kammermann came together to provide service to the community due to the high demand for professional maintenance and servicing of fire equipment.

We service locations across the state

Together, they built a team. At first beginning with four vans and one staff member, building up to what they have today, with a slightly larger sixteen vans and fifteen staff members. Fire Equipment Maintenance Group became a corporate member of the Fire Protection Association Australia in November 2000, and a member of National Fire Industry Association in January 2008.

Fire Equipment Maintenance Group has established itself a reputation for high quality work and professionalism, by our rigid adherence to the Australian Standards. The Occupational Health, Safety and Welfare Act in South Australia and minister's specifications enforce these standards.

Office Work Shop Facilities

FEMG began with two Office Workshops, one in Port Pirie and one in Port Augusta. Since the company has grown and expanded, FEMG purchased our current Office and Workshop at 17 Trent Road, Port Augusta in February 2005. This workshop provides Pressure and Hydrostatic testing of Water, Wet Chemical, AFFF (Foam) and Dry Chemical Powder Extinguishers, as well as refilling and rejuvenation of Fire Extinguishers.

CO2 Extinguishers are tested by an independent company and recharged at our Port Augusta Workshop. In 2009, FEMG leased premises at 71C Esmond Road, Port Pirie.

To assist our customers we have in excess of 250 loan Fire Extinguishers (Dry Chemical Powder and CO2). When a customer's Dry Chemical Powder or Co2 extinguisher requires Hydrostatic testing, we will endeavour to leave a loan extinguisher in place until their extinguisher is returned. All water and AFFF (Foam) extinguishers can be hydrostatically tested and recharged on site.
